Cost Per Gram
The calculated $ value of one gram of material OR a single unit of material.
Markup
The percentage of $ on top of the base price (this helps increase profit margins).
Material Cost
The calculated value of the amount of material used multiplied by the cost per gram/item.
Final Cost
The price at which to sell your product!
Please familiarize yourself with these terms you will see in the four step process below.
This is a simplified 4 step process you can use to calculate the value of your crochet project. There are 3 calculators below that will do the nitty-gritty work for you. It will take a few different calculations to get your final price.
You can speed up the process by using our PAID version of the Crochet Pricing Calculator.
For example purposes I will use $17.20 which is minimum wage in Ontario.

The cost per gram is $0.048. The material cost is $2.40.
For this example, this project took me 34 minutes.
You need to convert the percentage to a decimal.
Multiply the percentage by Converted to a decimal percentage by multiplying 56.67% by .01.
The answer = .5667.
.5667 x $17.20 = $9.747
$2.4 + $9.747 = $12.14
This is your BASE cost. Add more to account for fees, markup etc.
If this cost seems very high try this: Double check that you have converted the percentage of an hour into a decible by multiplying the # by .01.
ie. 76.67 x 0.01 = .76
.76 is the number you should put in the time box.
