My Journey to One of A Kind Toronto 2026

ree

So, I heard some really cool news this week.

I was on a break at my teaching job and I casually checked my email and "You're IN!"

I have officially been accepted to the One of A Kind Show in Toronto in April 2026!!! Compared to the Farmers' Market, this is a massive show! Think 700 vendors in one big space. And next Spring I'm gonna be one of them!

I wanted to bring you along for a bit of the journal through a monthly blog series. I hope you enjoy it!

Where do you even begin preparing for One of A Kind?

Not surprisingly, this show has a steep financial cost and time cost. I am going to be spending many many hours making plushies, binding books and tagging every single object.

I hope to make about 5x the booth fee in inventory and somehow that still doesn't feel like enough.

I have a master list that I hope to stick to, but knowing me I'll throw in a few surprises along the way.

So far, I've spent a lot of time designing and printing my Crochet Project Journals. I designed the covers and the inner pages and I plan to handbind each notebook. After careful consideration I decided to outsource the cover pages, because my home-printer just isn't up to the quality I want.

I will eventually have this available as a printable in my shop, so keep an eye out for that!

So How Much Do You Need to Make for One of a Kind Toronto?

At the moment, my document claims I need to make about 300 more products than I currently have. And that's not accounting for what will still sell by the end of the year. So, I assume that number is closer to 400 products.

My wrist hurts just thinking about it... I will be stretching lots and taking breaks because that is a LOT of products!

I think that's all for now. Feel free to ask me questions about the show. You can send me an email at simplewondersshop@gmail.com or msg me on Instagram at instagram.com/simplewondersshop

Bye for now!

Jen
