Have you Heart of L'artisan? It's the yarn paradise for Canadians who want to get our hands on all that American yarn like Parfait Chunky or rare Bernat Blanket colours. Tammy has done all us Canadians a favour by providing access to yarns without that US shipping cost.
And when you're done oohing and ah-ing come back here and read about my review of one of their very own yarns called Doux Nuage Chunky.
The Details
Doux Nuage is a Super Bulk (6) yarn that feels more like a Bulky (5)

You get 87 yards of super soft yarn in a 100g ball. The skein recomends 11mm crochet hook.

It comes in an amazing amount of colours. It even includes some variegated shades.

As of writing, each skein is $5.30 CAD.

My Order
I ordered 6 balls of Doux Nuage Chunky in my first order:
Off-White
Camel
Neon Green
Pastel Rainbow (102)
Yellow
Purple

First impressions:
Doux Nuage means "Soft Cloud" and it really lives up to that name. This yarn is extremely soft but doesn't have that plastic-texture like other polyester yarns.
Pros & Cons
Pros
Excellent Price
So many colours
Doesn't shed
Very strong
Feels luxurious
Small balls take up less space
Won't snap unless you pull really hard
Cons
High shipping cost
More expensive than similar yarns on the market
Honestly, there is so much to love! If you ask me, this is what I wish Bernat Velvet was. They recently changed their formula and it's just not up to snuff anymore. This will absolutely be my new go-to for velvety yarn.
What You Can Make
I predominantly make amigurumi (crochet stuffed toys) and this yarn is PERFECT for them! You can even do the magic circle with ease. That is NOT typical of these soft yarns.

I think Doux Nuage Chunky could be great for:
plushies
loveys
blankets
hats
scarves
sweaters
What would you make with this super soft yarn?
Jen
