Free Robin Crochet Pattern

Cheerily, cheerily, cheer-up!


I'm continuing my series of free bird patterns. I can't wait for you to make your very own crochet Robin.


This pattern is

  • quick

  • cute

  • colourful


I would say this pattern is for an advanced beginner. There are a lot of colour changes and two bobble stitches.


Here is what you'll need.


Materials

Super Bulky Yarn (#6)

  • white

  • yellow

  • peach

  • light grey

  • dark grey

5 mm crochet hook

Embroidery Needle

Safety Eyes - 12 mm OR Small bit of black yarn

Scissors

Abbreviations

mr - magic ring

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

inc - increase

dec -  decrease

sl st - slip stitch

BLO - back loop only

f/o -- fasten off

bbl - bobble stitch

cc - change colour

Body

Starting in dark grey.

R1. 6 sc in mr [6]

R2. (inc) x 6 [12]

R3. (1 sc, inc) x6 [18]

R4. (2 sc, inc) x6 [24]

R5. 24 sc, cc  light grey in last stitch.

R6. 7 sc, cc peach, 5 sc, cc grey, 12 sc  [24]

R7. 7 sc, cc peach, 6 sc, cc grey, 11 sc [24]

R8. 7 sc, cc peach, 6 sc, cc grey, 11 sc [24]

R9. 7 sc, cc peach, 7 sc, cc grey, 10 sc [24]

R10.  7 sc, cc white, 7 sc, cc grey, 10 sc [24]

R11. 7 sc, cc peach, bbl, cc light grey, 5 sc, cc peach, bbl, cc light grey, 12 sc [24]


If you plan on using safety eyes, place them now between rows 5 and 6 with 4 stitches in between.


Begin stuffing at this point and continue to stuff as you go.


R12. BLO (2sc, dec) x 6 [18]

R13. In both loops, (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]

R14. (dec x 6) f/o. [6]


Sew beak between eyes over 3 stitches.


Wing (Make two in light grey)

4 dc in mr and f/o


Sew wings to row 7 and 8 of the body.

Sew one upside down so they

look even.
